How We Measure

Coats and Jackets, Shirts, and Knitwear:

Shoulder:  Across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.

Pit-to-Pit:  Across the front from armpit to armpit.

Length:  Down the center of the back from the top seam to the bottom of the garment.

Sleeve: From the top of the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve.

 

Pants:

Waist:  Flat across the back waistband from one side to the other, then double the number.

Rise:  From the crotch seam to the top of the front waistband.

Inseam:  From the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg on the inside seam.

Leg Opening:  Across the leg opening from side to side.

 

Handbags:

Handle Drop:  From the top of the handle to the top of the bag.

Shoulder Strap Drop:  From the top of the strap to the top of the bag.

Height:  From the opening of the bag to the bottom of the bag, measured at the center.

Width: The base at its widest points, regardless of any tapering in size elsewhere in the bag.

Depth:  The distance between the two longest sides at the base, regardless of any tapering in size elsewhere in the bag.
